Clothing Sample Approval Checklist for Brands

A practical sample approval checklist for clothing brands before they confirm bulk production.

Clothing sample approval checklist for brands

Sample approval is the last safe checkpoint before bulk production. If a brand approves the wrong fit, fabric, color or construction, the same mistake can repeat across hundreds or thousands of units.

Check Fabric, GSM and Hand Feel

Confirm the sample uses the same fabric construction and GSM agreed in the tech pack. Check weight, drape, stretch and surface finish before looking at decoration.

Check Fit and Measurements

Measure the sample against the approved size chart. Pay attention to chest, length, shoulder, sleeve, collar and hem. Try it on a fitting model or dress form when possible.

Check Construction Details

Inspect stitching, seams, thread color, trims, labels and packaging. Note any loose threads, puckering, uneven hems or incorrect hardware.

Check Decoration and Labels

Confirm print placement, color, embroidery density, label text, care label and hangtag match the approved artwork.
